24,000 Beats Under the Sea is the fourth installment of a long series of parties produced by the infamous Disorient and Space Pirates crews. Developed as a fundraiser for their Burning Man adventures, this party is always a huge must-attend event and they really go all out with their decorations and overall production.

We were set up in the blacklight room in Underground Art’s black box theater. There were wildfire blacklights everywhere and tons of hand crafted underwater themed art. The entire room is black so the illuminated flourescent colors really popped. We weren’t afraid to get a little messy in our bodypaint area and ended up throwing around paint. It was a rare treat to be able to have that kind of freedom and we took advantage of it!

The visuals were out of this world! Here’s a video that showcases the stage in the blacklight room and the 3D mapping installation by Stingray Bob. You might remember his work from our last Glow Garden party at the Tiberino Museum!

If you have a chance to check out another Disorient or Space Pirate production do it! Their attention to detail and passion for the dance community goes above and beyond almost anything else that is out there.
