A bizarre ritual involving a deranged artist and his beloved doll leaves the audience wanting more.

Rituals are a big part of our world in both modern society and prehistoric tribes. Effigy is a short film that explores that world as we give the viewer an inside look at a secret ritual. Bodypaint.me Founder, Matt Deifer, stars in the film along with Nikki Lorenzo. The All-Star crew includes directors Marc Cleary and Paulina Lagudi. Cooper Ulrich was the DP and he shot on an Arri Alexa Classic with a 25 mm Zeiss super speed lens. The location was set at the Bodypaint.Me studio in Los Angeles and Kinan Chabani was the colorist who tuned in all the gorgeous fluorescent and Tokyo-inspired neon lighting. Take a look at Chabani’s work he is extremely talented and one of the most sought after colorists in the industry! Last but not least the hauntingly-beautiful music is “Forever for Now” by LP.
